Sea Training SussexSea Training Sussex provides all aspects of boat tuition, for the beginner who just wants help to enjoy their first time afloat, to the experienced for additional training.
Our teaching boats are a 6m Chinook RIB powered by a 115hp Suzuki engine and a 7.3m Arvor 230 Sportsfisher powered by a 150hp VW inboard engine. Having both planning and displacement craft enables us to tailor our training to suit a wide range of customers. Both vessels are equipped with high quality electronics and have a comprehensive inventory of safety equipment. Personal lifejackets and wet weather gear are provided. Company Overview
STS and sister company Harwell Charters Ltd also provide skippered and bareboat hire of the RIB and sportsfisher, both of which are MCA coded. The Arvor in particular, is used extensively for fishing and bespoke training for anglers can be provided. LocationSovereign Harbour Marina is situated between Pevensey Bay and Eastbourne. Shorebased training is provided on site and free parking is available. There are a wealth of shops and restaurants to enjoy before and after your training and there is 24 hour access to the sea via two locks at the marina entrance.

Based at Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne, STS is an RYA powerboat training school dedicated to providing the highest possible standard of tuition at competitive prices. Popular courses include RYA Powerboat level 1 &2, ICC, CEVNI and own boat tuition, DSC radio, Radar, Diesel engine course and first aid. Bespoke training and taster days are also popular.
The principal and owner of STS is Mark Sawyer and the Senior instructor is Guy Emery. Both have extensive seagoing experience and provide professional, friendly training directed entirely at giving you the skills you need. Mark is the Coxswain of the Eastbourne Lifeboat and Guy is a local paramedic. Guy is also the medic on the Eastbourne lifeboat.
