Price Guide & Terms
'Isobel' is available for daily hire during daylight hours (usually 0800hrs - 1700hrs) although different times can be accommodated (a fee may apply for extra hours or early/late finishes). Subject to appropriate weather and crew ability, the boat is licensed to be taken anywhere up to 20 miles from the marina.
Formal qualifications are not required, however the skipper will need to demonstrate sufficient experience to safely handle the boat. As a guide, it is suggested you will require a minimum of 2 years boating experience. Discounts apply for RYA course certificate holders (minimum level 2 powerboat or day-skipper).
Charter cost is £185 per day (£175 for RYA certificate holders). Included in the charter fee is:
- Fully comprehensive insurance
- Full range of safety equipment including lifejackets, life-raft, flares and DSC radio
- Electronic and paper charts (including some tips on where to fish...if required!)
- Landing net, bait boards and fish box
Harwell Charters supports the RNLI. The RNLI team at Sovereign Harbour work hard to ensure our safety therefore for each charter we will donate £2 the RNLI fund.
Additional Costs:
- Fuel - "Isobel' is supplied with a full tank of diesel which will need to be replenished at the end of each day's charter (a fuel pontoon is located at the entrance to the marina). The VW engine is extremely economical and as a guide you can expect to use approximately 9 litres of fuel per hour at a cruising speed of 13 knots. A trip to the Sovereign Tower (5 miles) could cost as little as £7. Note that fuel consumption will greatly increase at maximum power
- Fishing tackle - rods and reels are available for hire at a cost of £5 per day.
- Bait - Fresh/frozen bait can be obtained for your trip, please request in advance

After reserving a boat you will be sent an information pack containing all the information you need to enjoy a great day's fishing. The booking will be confirmed when you return a signed copy of our 'terms and conditions' leaflet (see qualifications and safety).
