Harwell Charters - Spring 2010
2nd boat to arrive late MarchAs previously mentioned on this site we are pleased to confirm that in addition to Isobel, our Arvor 230as 'Stonefisher' will be in operation at Eastbourne from early April. Stonefisher was previously based in Plymouth. She has been out of the water for a couple of weeks having a refresh and is now as good as new (thanks Mike). As much as making the journey by sea is an attractive prospect it is far more practical to for her to travel by road so she will be making the much shorter journey from Brighton instead! Booking is as usual done via the online calendar which has now been updated to reflect the number of boats available.
The training school (Sea Training Sussex) seems to be very popular. Eastbourne fishing legend Jim Whippy recently did a level 2 powerboat course with regular Harwell customer Danny Masters. The practical element of the course was conducted on Isobel, which, for the angler, provides a much more realistic experience than driving a RIB. You can read all about his experience in the Janauary issue of Boat Fishing Monthly. There are a host of courses both shorebased and practical and I cannot recommend them enough. Have a look at the training link above for more info.
Finally a thought about the fishing. As I write this it is freezing outside and a strong easterly wind is blowing, however.....the bass will start to arrive at the end of March and by early April the fishing will be in full swing again. I can't wait.
Best wishes
Alex
